Round #12 - Challenge #4 - Voting

Rules:
- Vote for 2 icons of the least quality. Reasons such as 'I don't like' or 'It's too plain' are not allowed. Actually think about why you are voting out the icon. If the icon is too plain, why is that bad thing? What could have been done to improve the icon?
- Also vote for 1 icon that you feel is the best quality. The reason for this one is optional but encouraged.
- Please do not focus on the icon fitting the theme as your main reason for voting a icon out.
- Keep your icon identity hidden until after the results are posted. Do not vote for yourself or get anyone to vote for you.
- You do not have to be a participant to vote (the more the merrier!).
- Positive votes do not take away from the amount of negative votes. This will change in the event of a tie.
- One person will be eliminated as the result of the voting.
- The comments are screened.

120. The image is very sharp in spots including Buffy's hair line & facial features. It could have looked better with either some contrast or using a blur tool.

Man, I feel like I'm already nitpicking and we're only on challenge #4.

2 least quality icons:

#3 - the crop is nice, but the image itself looks blurry and LQ on my monitor.

#2 - The red of the background doesn't match well with the red of Faith's shirt, and it makes Buffy with her light coloring look a bit washed out in comparison, unbalancing the composition (but not enough to look intentional). I would suggest using a different background color, and maybe to color Buffy's shirt to make her gain equal power in the icon.

#7 - great job with the cap, the coloring of subjects and textures looks very cohesive. I love how you chose textures to frame them. I'm not sure about the black thing behind her head, I think it might look better if you painted that over with more clouds with the stamp tool. Still, definitely my favorite icon here.

2 least quality icons:
#3 - The crop is nice but there are some really white/bright spots that make it a little odd in places. Like on her hand and forehead.
#8 - The background color is nice as is the cutout but it is a little sharp in places, like the outsides of her sweater, eyes and lips. Her left hand, to me, also looks a little fake and too white.

2 least quality icons:
#3 - I like the colours and crop, but the high contrast make their skin rather splotchy. The image also looks on the oversharpened side.

#4 - The colouring is a nice idea to make Angel and Buffy stand out against the background, but the lack of colour on their faces makes it look incomplete. Also, Angel's dark clothing obscures the colouring effect.

#6 - Great composition and colouring.

This is hard, because tbh, they are all great quality so being very nitpicky here (and I would vote myself out if I could, I hate my icon!).

2 least quality icons:
3 - The icon looks quite pixelated and blurry at the same time. The colouring is nice but some additional lighting could have helped make the icon pop a bit more.

4 - I like the painted colours! But the background is very wish-washy, and the cut of the subject(s) isn't very clean. Angel's body is so dark in comparision to everything else. Maybe using levels or a gradient map to make the blacks more neutral would have helped.
