Negative:
#3 - the texture placement washes out the top half of Buffy's head throwing the color of the entire icon off.

#3 - Lovely coloring and use of texture.

6 - love the simplicity of the icon; Buffy is centered perfectly, with enough negative space surrounding her to balance out the icon very well. I enjoy the brightness of it, as well as the skillful way in which the background was extended.

Well I looked through the comments and nobody said anything about the size. I am not sure if it was a factor or not. Did you want your comments?

I always feel bad when somebody has to go. Painful part of being a mod, lol.

Positive:
#1 - coloring is great and the text is very fitting
1 - coloring and overall image quality is great, and the bold text makes a good composition
1 - Great coloring, cropping, and text placement.
1 - The colors are natural yet bright, the subject is in focus and not blurry, and the text brings another element and adds to the overall effect of the icon.

Well, even though it wasn't a factor it still bugs me, since it was so clumsy. :P Hmm, I didn't at first, but I suppose it could always help me improve. :)

Ooh, comeback challenge, I'd forgotten about that! Hopefully I'll manage to do something for that. :)

Alrighty! Here they are:
2 - For me, slightly too dark to see the image
#2 - the darkness that the black and white coloring is overwhelming and takes away from the icon.
2 - background not completely removed before placing subject on blackdrop, awkward pieces of original image around her head. The contrast is a little dark. However, I do like the crop.
#2 - This icon is very dark, over contrasted, and oversharpened. The image quality looks degraded because of the darkness, and it comes off as sort of grainy.
2 - It's not contrasted enough making Buffy blend into the background too much.
