I am also finding out interesting things about how people vote and about their taste in icons. In challenge 2... 2people voted me the best and 2 people voted me the worst. It's all very fascinating.
Isn't it though? I think making icons and voting has really pushed me to be as specific as possible as to why a piece works for me or not. At the end of the day I'm as clueless as anyone.
And what "people like" changes based on who is voting, how many people, so many factors. It's all a bit of a mystery.
